The prostate is the gland between the bladder and the rectum. It is shaped like a walnut. The prostate is responsible for producing fluids that are part of semen. These fluids fill the testicles and make sperm. It is located below the bladder and in front of the rectum.
It surrounds the urethra which is the tube that empties urine from the bladder. When you ejaculate, your prostate enlarges and secretes a large amount of fluid.
Why is the prostate important? Well, your prostate is Fluxactive important for two reasons. First, it produces fluids that make up part of semen. This makes the ejaculate fertile. Second, your prostate enlarges and releases fluids. This fluid is required in the process of ejaculation.
A healthy prostate keeps these fluids away from the bladder and into the semen. If the prostate becomes enlarged and is too close to the bladder, it can block the passage of the semen.
This can cause you to have pain and discomfort. If the prostate doesn’t get its fluids it can grow large and even begin to push up against the bladder. As a result, it can cause inflammation, infections, and damage.
So what are the causes of prostate enlargement? Most often, enlargement of the prostate happens as men age.
