MBBS in Clinical Medicine
The MBBS at Wuhan University is a six-year medical education program in English for international students.
The major of clinical medicine (MBBS) mainly deals with the structure and function of the human body, human behavior and normal mood, common diseases, and causes of common diseases, including mental disorders, the influence of environmental, social, behavioral, and psychological factors on the onset and development of diseases and the importance of disease prevention, the etiology of common diseases and common disorders, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and preventive measures.
The aim is to develop the skills of international students. Basic knowledge of pharmacology and clinical principles of rational drug use; normal pregnancy and childbirth; general obstetric care; principles of antenatal and postnatal care and family planning; health education and disease prevention; general disease, disability, rehabilitation, nursing, and general practice; knowledge of clinical epidemiology; basic models of the outbreak and spread of infectious diseases; prevention of common infectious diseases.

About Wuhan University’s Faculty of Medicine
The Faculty of Medicine was originally called Hubei Medical University and merged with Wuhan University in 2000. The Faculty of Medicine has sub-departments of primary medicine, dentistry, public health, nursing, etc. There are three affiliated hospitals and 35 teaching hospitals.
The hospitals have 5,080 beds, 15 million outpatients per year, 50,000 inpatients, 25,000 major operations and a full range of disciplines, including 100 clinical and auxiliary departments and 30 laboratories. 2,500 staff, including 1,125 professors, attending physicians, associate professors and assistant professors. The faculty has grown to include more than 5,100 students, including 3,000 undergraduates, 1,500 graduate students and 600 international students. It also maintains good relations with hospitals and research institutions in the US, UK, France, Germany, Finland, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan and collaborates with them through academic exchanges.
WHU’s medical school offers many specialties for medical students, including clinical medicine (five years, six years, seven years, and eight years), stomatology (five years, seven years, and eight years), preventive medicine, medical laboratory science, pharmaceutical science, and nursing. Clinical medicine is the “undergraduate brand specialty” among medical schools under the Ministry of Education of China.
The college has two provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers: the experimental teaching center of basic medicine and the experimental teaching center of clinical skills. The total building area for experimental teaching is 7,432 square meters. The experimental teaching centers are well-organized and fully functional. Among them, there are 2689 pieces of equipment with a total value of 42.92 million RMB.
In the Experimental Teaching Center of Basic Medicine, there are three experimental teaching platforms: the experimental teaching platforms of morphology, kinesiology, and molecular biology and immunology. The experimental clinical skills teaching center is equipped with advanced experimental medical facilities, such as iStan intelligent simulation robots, Sim complete simulation robots, SimBaby complete infant simulation robots, high simulation head models, PCR models and obstetric delivery models.
The University of Wisconsin Medical School has three world-class hospitals directly affiliated for student internships and post-graduate placements. The three hospitals are WHU Stomatology Hospital, Renmin WHU Hospital (Renmin Hospital of Hubei Province), and Wuhan Zhongnan University Plus Hospital. Renmin Hospital has 2,680 beds, while Zhongnan Hospital has 2,100 beds.
The University of Wisconsin Medical School has 11 indirectly affiliated teaching hospitals, all of which are first-class. It also has six training centers for community health center rotations.
Requirements
Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals, possess a valid passport, and hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

The application deadline is June 15 of each year.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fee is 40,000 RMB per year. The total cost of the six-year program is RMB 240,000.
